It is identical to the player's flippers and is used to flip the outhole ball to the shooter lane. The outhole is not a kick-out hole as found in coin-operated pin games but has, next to the outhole, what the manual's parts list refers to as a " flipper".

Needs More Ratings! 4.8 / 10 ( 5 ratings) īrunswick Manufacturing Company, of Chicago, Illinois, USA (1932-1980) I'm only going to rip one of them out ONCE for that issue.Internet Pinball Machine Database: Brunswick 'Alive' Replacement relays had leads soldered to them, with lugs already crimped on them. I had a spare booster, and when one got pulled, a terminal strip went into the box. With the booster motors hard-wired into the control box, a relay failure meant pulling the entire booster assembly, because I'm not small enough or limber enough to solder in a new relay between the machines. You have no idea how much I WISHED the ball booster control box relays had those "tiny" push-on astro terminals. Good point on the wiring, a cut/broken wire was more often the cause than relays going out, at least in my place. If the accelerator or booster isn't running, you get a giant ball jam at the straight track which the customer would see as balls not returning, just the same as if the lift wasn't running, so a relay in the accelerator box can cause "return" issues. Lousy base but will make the job a bit easier. If they did change out the control box with the new trays.then they have a type of plug in relay. They would have added a box to produce the 24 VAC for the fan.but no difference other than that. With the B2000 setup.they probably only changed the tray leaving the old Astro control unit which means nothing has changed. No fun to say the least.so again, most were left until later. Lots of wires with little 1/8 slide on connectors. If the power lift was an original Astroline, the relay was replacable without needing the soldering iron.but a good magnifying glass could come in handy.LOL The wiring in the Astro version left a bit to be desired. So this is something that would often be left until the needed time or the paitence came around. In order to change the relay.a soldering iron would be involved which many mechanics are not as skilled at using as they are a socket and ratchet. The relay used in the accelerator control box is a style that is soldered in. Re: Brunswick astroline ball return problem.
